Overview:

This project to acquire 117 new trucks through public tender was raised by the Philippine Army as part of its continuous efforts to increase motorization of its combat units, as part of modernization plans to transform its infantry units to motorized units that could easily move to where they are needed.

There have been several other similar projects in the past although these varied in budget, and also in quantity.

The public tender resulted with the win of F. Cura Industries, a local company specializing in customizing trucks and buses to suit their customer's requirements, with a Notice of Award released to their favor on 16 January 2025.

On March 2025, Isuzu Philippines held its Isuzu Truck Fest 2025 which showcased their N-Series 4x4 light truck in military specs, partnering with F. Cura Industries and FMC Trucks.

It was a signal that F. Cura Industries will be using the Isuzu N-Series trucks, customized according to the Philippine Army's requirements.

The display was then followed by the Contract Signing and release of Notice to Proceed in favour of F. Cura Industries on 24 March 2025, with the company expected to deliver all trucks in 1 year.

With this, Isuzu Philippines, as the manufacturer of the trucks, led the formal turn-over of 117 Isuzu NPS 4x4 light trucks, together with 88 units of the larger Isuzu FTS trucks procured under a separate project, to the Philippine Army on 31 March 2026, with Philippine Army Support Command chief Maj. Gen. Florante Sison and Isuzu Philippines Corporation Executive Vice President Yasuhiko Oyama leading the event.

Based on the photos from March 2025 and March 2026, it appears that the delivered Isuzu NPS trucks have the front bull bars, but is missing the roof carrier and wider tires compared to the unit displayed during the Isuzu Truck Fest 2025.

It remains to be seen if there are also other differences in interior accessories, as there are no photos for us to use as basis of comparison.

===============

With the Isuzu NPS light troop carrier trucks already delivered to the Philippine Army as of March 2026, MaxDefense and Philippine Defense Resource officially consider the ORD PABAC2 042-24 Truck, Troop Carrier Light (Militarized) Acquisition Project of the Philippine Army as COMPLETED.
